Welcome to Saint-Cyr Beach Retreat. We are a cozy two-bedroom seaside apartment on the Mediterranean Sea in the small village of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, France. Below we share with you some of our favorite parts of spending time in Saint-Cyr.

Les Lecques Beach: A Wonderful, Family-Friendly Beach in Provence

Les Lecques is the main beach of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer and one of the few wide, sandy beaches on this part of the Mediterranean coast. Its gentle slope into the sea makes it ideal for swimming, relaxing, and long days by the water.

  • Calm, clear Mediterranean water ideal for swimming
  • Gentle entry into the sea, perfect for all ages

The beach is lovely in the early morning, during the vibrant daytime hours, and at sunset when the sky reflects across the water.

The Palm-Lined Boardwalk and Scenic Pier

Running alongside the beach is a palm-lined promenade that forms the social heart of the waterfront. This boardwalk is perfect for morning walks, jogging, or simply enjoying the fresh sea air. It offers continuous views of the Mediterranean and connects visitors to shops, cafés, and restaurants.

The pier extends gracefully into the sea and is a favorite gathering spot. From here, visitors can:

  • Watch fishing boats and sailboats arrive and depart
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the coastline
  • Take photos of the beach and surrounding hills

Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer offers an excellent selection of beachfront dining, with many restaurants located just steps from the sand. Guests can enjoy meals outdoors while overlooking the sea. Evenings are especially enjoyable, as the promenade fills with people walking, dining, and enjoying the warm coastal atmosphere.

  • Seafood: Fresh seafood and Mediterranean specialties
  • Traditional Provençal cuisine

  • Beach clubs offering relaxed meals and drinks
  • Ice Cream: Best thing ever on a hot summer day. The restaurant, Da Stella, below the apartment serves ice cream and crepes and there are many more up and down the promenade.
  • Pizza Pizza!: Saint-Cyr is a pizza heaven with many restaurants serving pizza.

Ideal Location for Day Trips and Exploration

Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer is perfectly situated for exploring some of the most beautiful destinations in Provence and along the Mediterranean coast.

Popular day trips include:

Cassis (20 minutes)

  • Charming harbor town with colorful buildings
  • Boat tours to the famous calanques
  • Excellent restaurants and seaside cafés

From Cassis you can visit the Calanques, which are spectacular.

Bandol (15 minutes)

  • Renowned wine region, famous for rosé
  • Attractive marina and waterfront dining
  • Local markets and boutique shopping

There are many nearby wineries to visit, so why not? The route to Domaines Bunan provides a beautiful drive, with lovely scenery and an excellent wine tasting experience. Always be sure to check hours before heading out.

Calanques National Park (20–30 minutes)

  • Spectacular limestone cliffs and turquoise water
  • Hiking trails with unforgettable views
  • Swimming and boating in secluded coves
